History and Philosophy
TAMKO began in 1944 in a streetcar barn in Joplin, Mo. TAMKO’s philosophy is simple – work hard, do your best, be fair and honest, and believe in those around you. It was on that foundation that E.L. Craig created the TAMKO line of roofing products. In 1960, under the leadership of Jay Humphreys, TAMKO became a national leader in the industry. Humphreys led the expansion of facilities in Phillipsburg, Kan., Tuscaloosa, Ala., Knoxville, Tenn., Frederick, Md. and Dallas, Texas. Under the leadership of David Humphreys, TAMKO has added manufacturing facilities in Butler, Ala., Green Cove Springs, Fla., Columbus, Kan., Ennis, Tx, Naples, Tx, Lamar, Mo. and at an additional location in Joplin, Mo. Commercial Products
TAMKO® products set the industry standard for strength and performance. Awaplan is the industry's first and finest SBS-modified polyester roll roofing. AwaFlex® roll roofing delivers similar performance characteristics for jobs with price-driven requirements. TAMKO offers everything for application specifications from SBS modifieds to BUR systems, as well as base sheets, flashing membranes and more. TAMKO has also continued it's legacy of providing the highest quality Cements and Coatings for commercial and residential applications.
